A Lesson in Tea
Friday, March 6th, 2009To keep in the spirit of all our patriot friends protesting taxes by having or attending tea, our very own (and only) member of the Southwest Missouri Liberty Restoration Project, Renea McMasters, attended a tea party! This tea party was hosted by the graceful members of the Shepherd of the Hills Garden Club.
Fellow patriots, NEVER underestimate the power or patriotism of a garden club member! These ladies not only know how to start a Calicarpa americanus by seed or make a quiche that is sinful, they also know how to rally patriotism in even the most jaded soul.
These ladies are old enough to have fathers and husbands who fought in wars. Today they have sons and grandsons in wars. Their love of freedom has led them to honor veterans with a monument.
A Blue Star monument is a monument to all veterans…. Even Iraq Veterans Against the War (I love you guys). These monuments have very strict guidelines regarding their placement and maintenance. The ladies and gentlemen of the garden club will settle on nothing but the best when it comes to expressing their love of freedom and their reverence for those who have fought for it.
The Shepherd of the Hills garden club collects seeds to send to Afghanistan. I pray these seeds are heirloom seeds, but they are food nonetheless. One member’s son is helping to rebuild schools that were destroyed by the Taliban. Thanks to her son girls are now allowed to attend school.
These ladies know that we are expressing ourselves and angst with tea. I was honored that they allowed me to join them in their celebration of freedom. I thanked them with pocket constitutions and a hand-written note.
Your friend in liberty,
Renea McMasters
