America “Serves”

Welcome my friends, to a historical time in the history of one of the greatest countries ever founded. We come together in a time of celebration to welcome the 44th President of the United States of America, Barack Obama. A campaign that was centered on a single word, “Change.” This idea of change from an era of disgrace and deceit was a welcomed concept to most Americans; in fact, there weren’t many people that approved of the George W. Bush era. It didn’t take very long on Election Day for a winner to be declared, and it appeared as though the world rejoiced, Barack Obama would soon be our new president. He quickly ushered in a massive group to form his cabinet to deal with arguably one of the worst times to be entering into a presidency. Now that the Inauguration is official and we don’t need to call him President-Elect Obama, his judgment has begun.

The focus of this article is to discuss the revolutionary change that echo through the heart of our president and members of his cabinet. One would compare President Obama to Abraham Lincoln, or even JFK, and a resounding speech rings true to our new president. It was a speech that changed the world, and read “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country.” President Obama has a very similar concept that he just hasn’t spoken enough about, and it’s mostly outlined on his www.change.gov website entitled “America Serves”. This plan covers volunteers offering their pledges to aid classrooms, health care, clean-energy, and veteran services. The plan even offers up a potential to earn $4,000 toward college.

This plan just has revitalization all over it, and even though this is the 4th revision of this plan (the first 3 were criticized for including words like “mandatory”, and “required”), we all know and believe in our president well enough to know that he would never “make” us do anything against our wills. Especially not to “serve” in a compulsory service plan, right? I guess if I think about it, we are one of the few countries that don’t host a compulsory civil service, so I thought I would look into what we are missing out on, and I was impressed! There are roughly 28 large countries that have civil services in place, and some have had these plans since the 19th century. Included in this list but not limited to are; Brazil, China, Egypt, Finland, Germany, Greece, Iran, Mexico, and Russia.

Being a typical unaware American has once again proven to be a flaw, and I must admit, I was a bit startled to find out how far behind other countries we were. For example, Israel seems to have the most direct format of service, 3 years for men, and 2 years for women, mandatory. There are a few exceptions to the rule, but for the most part almost all of Israel mandates that their countrymen earn the privilege of being Israel citizens, and they are flexing the muscle of conscription as we speak! South Korea is not very forgiving though, it’s either you serve a little over 2 years or you spend it in prison. Mexico selects their servicemen from a lottery type system that is also color-coded, similar to the USA’s Selective Training and Service Act of 1940 (our only peacetime conscription).

So why are we so far behind? What holds us back from knowing what it means to be a true American? Chief of Staff, Rham Emanuel said it best during an interview that “Citizenship is not an entitlement program; it comes with responsibilities” speaking about his co-authored book “The Plan” which details his belief that Americans need to serve in order to earn their citizenship. Well don’t worry too much because Secretary of Defense Robert Gates already has the “plan” underway after it was determined that we do not have adequate military support in case of “domestic disaster’s” or homeland defense. Don’t worry about whether or not this violates the 13th Amendment (also known as the “Emancipation Proclamation”), because if it was, our government wouldn’t do it, right!?

Let’s take a moment and realize just how lucky we are to live in such a country that isn’t concerned with agenda’s that take away civil liberties, or show udder disregard toward the document that set our country free. I am proud to be an American, I am happy to do what I can to make this country the best I can, and most directly, I look forward to doing my part by breeding more children for our government, so they can earn the right to be proud Americans.

End the Fed Rally II

We are all feeling the pinch of greed and deceit in our pocket books, the American people have been taken advantage of by the banking systems that are allowed to exist . If you are like me, you are mad, hurting, and tired of not being heard by the countless emails and phone calls made to my elected officials. Even after our short-lived victory of have “BAILOUT 1” shot-down, it was passed less than a week later, our representatives heard our voices but they chose to ignore if for the sake of fear-mongering and self-interests. We are still in the same boat after T.A.R.P. was approved and then abandoned. In fact the Federal Reserve Bank has spent well over the allotted amount of cash approved and has spent that money in places that they refuse to disclose. They are not a branch of the Federal Government so they don’t have to respond to the “Freedom of Information Act”, and they used that privilege when Bloomberg News attempted to acquire that information.“Bailout II” was loaded with pork including money for Hollywood to buy movies, constructing Homeland Security a new building, salary increases for the FBI, and so many more pork projects that will NOT fix our recession. So are you SICK of being ignored? Are you sick of enslaving our children with more debt? Sick of a corrupt government that CONTINUES to ignore the very people that elected them? If so then JOIN US at the National “End The Fed II” Rally. The rally will at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, 1 Memorial Drive, Kansas City, MO. 64108. We will gather at 12pm at the bank and march to the IRS, stopping in the middle for special guest speakers. There will be shuttle services for those who are not able to march with the group. The purpose of this rally is to show the Nation, State, and Kansas City that we are tired of being ignored, and that the era of deserving the government we elect is OVER. We will shout loudly that we will take their power away from them, it’s our right and our DUTY!

We’re all familiar with the popular herbicide, “Roundup,” and its commercials, promising swift and efficient deliverance from weed problems. “The World According To Monsanto,” is a documentary about the makers of Roundup, a company called Monsanto corporation.
