Saturday, February 6th, 2010

Had enough of the red light cameras in your city? Join others across the US in “showing your love” for them this Valentine’s Day by protesting near one of your local red light cameras. LOLA Tracy Ward from the Liberty Restoration Project has initiated this nationwide protest, in response to the growing number of cameras popping up around the country.

The Liberty Restoration Project can also provide you with pertinent information to hand out to drivers, as well as other suggestions on making your area’s protest maximally effective. Help Michael Badnarik

Michael Badnarik

Michael Badnarik is the heart of liberty today. A Presidential candidate in 2004, a teacher lecturer on the Constitution and is the residing President of the 2009 Continental Congress.

On December 21, Michael was in Madison, Wisconsin attending a hearing regarding a raw milk case. After the hearing he got in a car to go to lunch with friends, He then slumped over. His friends attempted CPR and contacted the paramedics. They attempted to revive him 3 times with no success. Upon the 4th attempt his heart was revived yet with erratic behavior.

He was rushed by helicopter to Gunderson Lutheran Hospital CCU in Lacrosse, WI, where he was fitted with a temporary pacemaker and a balloon pump to ease stress on his heart. He had a stent placed inside a blocked artery and was put into a medically induced coma for two weeks.

As Michael was in the ICU, Eric Nordstrom proposed a fundraiser to help cover the expenses. Nordstrom is quoted, “I would never ask for help in this regard and I am sure Michael wouldn’t as well. All the more reason we help.”

Michael has been released from the hospital and is in recovery. We are hoping to show the generosity of We the People. The episode has built up medical bills and we would like to get the Heart of Liberty back in action and focused on the fight, not on bills! We are asking for donations toward covering medical expenses. Please visit our Donations page if you can help.

KC Mayor Funkhouser and STL Mayor Slay Want to Link No-Fly List With NICS Gun Background Check

Wednesday, November 25th, 2009

http://www.ammoland.com/2009/11/24/mayors-against-illegal-guns-wants-to-a-secret-list-to-keep-you-from-buying-guns/

The gun banning front group Mayors Against Illegal Guns, headed by New York’s Mayor Bloomberg, came out with a full page ad in the Washington Post recommending that the Federal Government now link the secret No Fly list to National Instant Background Check System (NICS) and use this to prevent gun owners on the list from buying guns.

And just last week, Attorney General Eric Holder endorsed this legislation on behalf of the Obama Administration. Fortunately for US gun owners, Congress has failed to act and that is why Bloomberg’s MAIG is now pushing to connect the two.

According to the Government Accountability Office, over the past five years people on the terrorist watch list, also called the No Fly List bought guns more than 850 times. This is a Secret List kept by the federal government that has no rhyme or reason as to who gets on it and no known way to get off it.  Remember, this is the same secret list that the late Senator Kennedy was listed on for a period of time, preventing him from flying on commercial airlines.

In addition to the No Fly list MAIG is also calling for closure of the imaginary Gun Show Loop Hole and a repeal of Tiahrt Amendments which require the FBI to destroy records of approved background checks performed on gun purchasers within 24 hours.

ACTION 1: Check the Mayors Against Illegal Guns website and see what Mayors belonging to MAIG live in your state and call them and demand they resign from a group that’s mission is banning legal gun ownership and infringing on your second amendment rights. http://www.mayorsagainstillegalguns.org/

ACTION 2: Write your congressman and demand that they Vote down any attempts by the Obama Administration and MAIG to introduce any bills that would allow the secret government No Fly list to be linked with the National Instant Background Check System.

There’s an $8 billion redevelopment plan for North St Louis- and city residents are footing the bill!

The developer is taking family’s homes with eminent domain and your money with an unprecedented $400 million TIF (tax incremental financing). The largest TIF is St Louis City history! And all the while we are cutting funds for police, firefighters, transportation, schools and projects like the Ballpark Village.  Everyone can agree the northside needs redevelopment but this plan just doesn’t add up.

I am working with several community groups from the city to gather signatures for the petition.  If you are a registered voter in the city of St Louis and would like to sign petition, please contact me.

Here is more info on the petition-

Here is the latest article on this matter-

Please make sure your friends in St Louis city are aware of where their tax funds are going!

Thank you,

Jackson County Voters vote today to extend drug task force sales tax

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2009

Today is the COMBAT Sales Tax Renewal vote for many Kansas City Area residents.

The politicians and police departments have come out in force to support this tax renewal, along with the organizations that receive funding from COMBAT.

Just a few reminders concerning reasons to mark “NO” on this vote:

The results of County Executive Sanders’ audit has not yet arrived at the “recommendations” phase. (They are asking tax payers to approve sales taxes to fund an organization still recovering from corruption, with no proposals on what changes are being considered)

COMBAT operations expose that the drug war is an endless money hole that never ends – http://www.kansascity.com/273/story/1524617.html

Some COMBAT money goes to fund private developers through the TIF program – http://primebuzz.kcstar.com/?q=node/20403

COMBAT adds to the blight caused by vacant homes – http://www.nbcactionnews.com/news/local/story/Couple-Arrested-After-Rescuing-Drug-House/-d-ohIoPZUC3l8×2Xfo4qA.cspx?rss=764

Left leaning blogger Tony’s KC has compiled an interesting take on the “NO” vote here:  http://www.tonyskansascity.com/2009/11/combat-tax-d-day.html

Catherine Bleish detained in Maplewood MO Please Help.

Monday, October 12th, 2009

Catherine Bleish arrested in first amendment related issue, I just recieved a text asking concerned patriots to contact Maplewood Missouri PD for details and demand they respect first amendment rights.

Maplewood Police Department (314) 645-4880

These are the only details we have at this time, due to a brief text message from someone on the scene. More will come as this story develops.

Update——-

Catherine was standing outside of a courtroom repeatedly mentioning how the citizens should not be forced to stand in the cold at a public office when a police officer told her to either shut up or go to jail and mentioned that she needed to be on a leash if anyone had one. She asked why she had to choose either and was subsequently arrested.

Update #2——-

The only reports I’ve gotten are from you all responding to these messages as many of us are being hung up on by the PD.

Some people are saying that the police are telling them she has been released, please try to get recordings of them saying this, as this does not appear to be true.

Thanks to Catherine’s mom who did send this

“At this point they are not planning charging her with anything. So I am not sure why they are holding her. Of course, this could change. She is asking if anyone feels inclined to please call and ask for mercy and ask for an early release since it does not appear that she is guilty of anything or is going to be charged with anything. They have taken away all of her personal possessions including her sweatshirt and have given her one blanket.”

Thank you for your support through all of this.

Update #3——–
It appears Catherine was released recently, visit her twitter for more http://twitter.com/DontTreadOnCat

Update #4———

Twitter has killed her account.  More info later today.

Action Alert: KC City Council attempting to alter the 3:00 am Liquor Licensing provisions

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

Part of our upcoming street action this Sunday at 1:00pm 63rd and Brookside blvd will be an attempt to spread the word of this provision to patrons of drinking establishments.

This is more than merely an issue of ethical reasoning for freedom in alcoholic consumption, this is also an issue of improper regulation of competing businesses, as these provisions have exclusions for some businesses.

The city council committee will also be meeting on this issue 10:00 AM City Hall 26th floor on 9/23.

If this issue affects you or your vision of freedom within the city, please attend.

We will also be discussing this issue at our weekly planning meeting on 9/22 at 7:00 at The Levee 43rd and Main.

The following link is the actual provision.
