MO Anti-Real ID Bill Passes in Senate Committee for Debate on Floor.

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

The Anti-Real ID Bill, HB 361, passed unanimously by all members present in a Senate Committee for debate on the Senate floor.  Testimony in support of the bill was given by Rep. Jim Guest, Catherine Bleish from LRP, and a representative from the ACLU.  No testimony was given opposing the bill.

The bill also received enthusiastic support from Sen. Jolie Justus from Kansas City.  Sen. Justus also recognized the five LRP members present in the gallery from the Senate Floor.  In addition, Sen. Justus agreed to be a guest on the Liberty Restoration Hour radio show with Catherine Bleish, details upcoming.

This is a major step for this legislation as it failed to make it through Senate Committee last year.  If this bill passes, Missouri would join the many other states that have passed legislation against Real ID, such as South Carolina, New Hampshire, and Montana.  Please contact your state senator and ask them to support HB 361.

Liberty Work House could become reality today — Help Needed

Monday, April 27th, 2009

The Liberty Restoration Project, a grassroots organization based out of Kansas City, is undertaking an important project for the liberty movement. They plan on opening up the first of its kind Liberty Work House to provide room and board for full time activists working to restore liberty to our nation. The plan is to retake our country city by city, starting in the heartland.

They have placed a bid on a house that is perfect for this project and need your help! Today (4/27) final bidding is occurring, and there are several other bids on the house. In order not to lose it they are going to have to place a larger offer.

It would truly be a shame to lose this house, so if you could help please make your best donation today and help LRP.

For more info and pictures of the house please go to www.libertyrestorationpro…

To help today please go to www.libertyrestorationpro…

When we all work together we can make a difference and retake this nation for liberty!

Thank you!!

Is the Mayor truly at fault?

Friday, April 24th, 2009

The Liberty Restoration Project has been observing our local city council for about a year.  We went into the project without an opinion about the council or the mayor.  Over the course of this time period we have collected a series of images and video clips that show you exactly what is happening during a city council meeting.  We’re not going to say we agree with the Mayor 100% politically, but we do see that Kansas City’s problems run deeper than a Mayor who let his wife volunteer in his office.

I encourage all Kansas City residents to attend the Liberty Restoration Project’s grass roots education day on April 26, 2009 starting at 10am, where we will be going over what we have seen at city council meetings.  See the entire schedule of grassroots trainings below.

Also, we plan to have a grass roots brainstorming discussion and your answers to the following survey will be of much help.  We will share this information with any local grassroots liberty group so we can all strive to provide the grassroots with an active and productive coalition of organizations.  Please forward to your friends: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=useVxKZRkmynsCuLLDELLg_3d_3d

KC District MO state Senator Justus, Vice Chair of committee passionately supports Real ID Repeal

Friday, April 24th, 2009

Yesterday, an action alert was posted about the Missouri Senate and HB 361 (a bill that recently passed the Missouri House to repeal the federal Real ID requirements for the state of Missouri).

Today I had a face-to-face conversation with Missouri State Senator Jolie Justus from the 10th district.  She is Vice Chair of the Progress and Development committee that will be hearing the bill.

She came to me to express her support for repealing the Real ID act in the state of Missouri.  She mentioned the requirements to obtain a driver’s license being overreaching for those who do not fit certain requirements or are unable to obtain a Birth Certificate.  She had also mentioned the Real ID act as an unfunded Federal mandate and how it was created out of a wave of Terrorism-related legislation.

She mentioned how she expressed these sentiments to Senator Callahan and looks forward to hearing this bill in the committee.

Continue your support of this bill by thanking Senator Justus (ask her to co-sponsor) and by asking these other Senators to support the bill’s easy passage from committee.

Immediate Action Needed In MISSOURI!!!

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

State Senator Victor Callahan and his committee are standing in opposition of Jim Guest’s REAL ID BILL(HB-361)!!! We believe there is some insider information being sent back and forth that will squash Rep. Guest’s bill to kill Real-ID in Missouri and we need to call and act swiftly to regain our footing on this extremely important legislation. Here is what WE NEED: Please CALL and EMAIL these people and let them know NICELY that we would like for them to stand up for American civil rights and protect our freedom!

TEMPLATE FOR CALLING: (Feel free to edit and revise)
Hello, my name is ____________ and I wanted to take a moment to thank Senator __________ for their interest in HB 361, or the Real ID Bill. We(I) understand that the Senate Committee for Progress and Development Committee is in opposition of this bill and we want to strongly urge the Senator to shift their opinion. As a citizen of the United States, I feel our civil liberty is being taken away with each passing day and find the government using technology to track my activities very immoral and Unconstitutional. Please do not allow our state to lose the sovereignty our forefathers granted us and support HB- 361. Thank you for your time!

Be prepared to answer questions with why you are against tracking chips in your Drivers Licenses and against the government using biometrics to watch our everyday movements. Tell them how you fell, but PLEASE BE NICE!!!

CALL THESE PEOPLE!!!

Monopoly March to End The Fed

4/25/09

PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS!

We are closing in on our rally day and we are all eager for the show to begin. The Liberty Restoration Project has been working obsessively to bring an amazing weekend filled with fun, education, and friends together to make a weekend none of us will soon forget! On the heels of the Tea Parties, our movement takes the power of knowledge ONE step further, and that’s by identifying the true culprits of our economic woes, The Federal Reserve Bank!

We want to ensure that everyone has a great time, we also need to make sure everyone remains safe and with the escalation of attention our movement is getting in a not-so-positive manor, we wanted to make sure that a few rules were clear for the attendees of this rally:

1) No violence of ANY sort will be permitted or tolerated. We have gone to great lengths in working with the KCPD to have them work beside us and we will not delay in exposing any trouble makers to the police.

2) Be helpful and loving to the people around you! Even if we encounter “Counter-protestors”, we will embrace them in a positive light. If you notice anyone with any medical issues, please notify a Marshall as quickly as possible.

3) Come prepared to be photographed/ video-taped. There will be media from many elements at the rally and since perception is VITAL to our credibility, please keep all signs and t-shirts ON-TOPIC. Please keep in mind this is a NON-PARTISAN ISSUE.

4) Please be ready and willing to volunteer. We have signs that need to be carried to order to get our message across. You will be a big part of the backdrop for your rally!
