New News from Lawrence
Hello friends ~
More news out of Lawrence!!
I met with Americans For Prosperity and really like their practical approach and DATA they have on the highway system. They talked about Lawrence’s “T” bus system and the funds that are essentially being misused. We will have a surplus of 2 million dollars, if I remember right. Soooo….where is that money going??
Meanwhile, I’m going to focus more on the city commission here — just try and attend a few of their mtgs and get an idea of how the process works if nothing else! These mtgs are open to the public — more people can do the same thing in their own communites. GET INVOLVED – it’s the difference between freedom and more gov’t slavery.
Topeka is holding a C4L meeting that I reeeaallly want to attend; again, it’s all about building the intrastate network across Kansas!! If you’re in the area, please join in!! We’ve got to be more involved also with the state legislative process, and Topeka members are VITAL to this effort.
This is probably my last little post until after the Christmas holiday. I’m taking some time to step back and regroup, myself. Read one or two books and get educated as best as possible. Times are changing quickly – if we can build an integrated, intra-state network, we can tackle issues much more smoothly and get word/education spread faster than ever. Freedom of information will be key in 2009, as well as CONNECTIONS with people. Get to know your neighbors! Sugar cookies are great conversation-starters ; )
I wish you all a merry Christmas and happy (or, at least survivable…) New Year in 2009. Keep that inner fire – the revolution continues
In freedom,
Sally

Lawrence must be a great place to focus efforts and activism. There’s no doubt a strong influence from the university, but there’s still open carry of firearms and no city income tax. Small compared to KC; Easier to get things done. And when I lived there, being able to walk anywhere could not be beat. Real energy independence. If there’s anywhere in Kansas for the seeds of liberty to take root and spread, it’s Lawrence.

The shoppers on Mass. Street were so much more receptive to our Constitution Drive than the shoppers on the Country Club Plaza. On the Plaza … I just got simply ignored. The People in Lawrence were actually grateful, that they were being given a document written by our founding fathers for free!
